LATIN AMERICAN ART MUSEUM GARY NADER COLLECTION OPENING SUCCESS

Miami, Dec. 3rd, 2014: Gary Nader Art Centre opened last night with unprecedented crowd.

Gary Nader hosted a diverse and inspired crowd of art world personalities and prestigious collectors, art critics, artistic celebrities, curators and art lovers in general. Over 800 guests experienced the unveiling of the Latin American Art Museum (LAAM) MODEL and renderings designed by well-known Mexican architect Fernando Romero designer of the Soumaya Museum in Mexico City.

A group exhibition including important paintings, sculptures, drawings and other media from the museum’s permanent collection accompanied the debut of the LAAM MODEL and architectural plan and the launch of Gary Nader Art Centre as a temporary space for the LAAM.

Featured artists are Pablo Atchugarry, Jose Bedia, Fernando Botero, Claudio Bravo, Agustin Cardenas, Mario Carreño, Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Carlos Cruz Diez, Carlos Enriquez, Pedro Figari, Julio Galan, Walter Goldfarb, Oswaldo Guayasamin, Enrique Grau, Ignacio Iturria, Frida Kahlo, Guillermo Kuitca, Wifredo Lam, Julio Larraz, Victor Manuel, Fabian Marcaccio, Matta, Beatriz Milhazes, Armando Morales, Guillermo Muñoz Vera, Alejandro Obregon, Amelia Pelaez, Emilio Pettoruti, Candido Portinari, Rene Portocarrero, Diego Rivera, Betsabee Romero, Tomas Sanchez, Jesus Rafael Soto, Rufino Tamayo, Francisco Toledo, Joaquin Torres Garcia, Ivan Tovar , Francisco Zuñiga and Angel Zarraga among others.

The LAAM hosts the largest and most comprehensive Latin American collection with over 150 of the most important modern and contemporary artists from this region. The museum aspires to be the most important venue in North America to showcase acclaimed Latin American Art and will be fully dedicated to foster knowledge by a continuous process of appreciation and reinterpretation of Modern and Contemporary art from Latin American and its diaspora.

THE SHOW is open to the general public from December 3rd, 2014 through March 30th, 2015.
